Anyone Menstruating

Persil

This campaign for Persil aimed to have women on their periods on the day of the shoot, bleeding into their undergarments so that we could photograph them. Unfortunately, as any person menstruating knows, you cannot necessarily predict this monthly happening! I was commissioned as a SFX makeup artist to research stains and custom make blood the colour that you would expect on your period. This was a back up in case any of the people did not have their period at the time (this ended up being most of them!). I had great fun creating dried blood stains, fresh blood stains, clotted blood, etc etc..
